One of the main fundamental of a wedding speech is that it must have some element of humor. It doesn’t have to be that hilarious but a few touches of humor will do as long as the crowd loves it and you don’t offend anyone. My advice to you is to keep it courteous and you will do just fine. During the first part of my bride wedding speech I had put a good joke about my parents which was hilarious but was in good spirit and it certainly didn’t offend them. Even though I was pretty nervous but i have finally delivered it and believe me everybody liked my oration as I came to know latter.
I have also noticed that constant interaction with the crowd seems too lightened up the whole environment as it gives an air of informality and the crowd seems to love it.
